Carmel was born in Louisville, KY and has lived there most of her life. Majoring in fine arts at the University of Louisville, Carmel has always pursued her interests in this field but has rekindled the interest in watercolor over the past 2 years. In the past she has done work in pottery as well. Other interests include gardening and volunteering with her local school and scout troop.
